How did you get started doing this type of work?

The owner, Trent R. Tolton worked as a restoration and remodeling specialist for his father since the age of 10. Starting from basic labor at a young age moving up the ladder all the way to general contracting has not been easy but it has been worth it. It’s only been worth it because at a very young age Mr. Tolton learned the industry is full of pirates and it is tremendously difficult to find a reliable company that can take care of everything on your property from roofing to plumbing and everything in between like landscape and cleaning maintenance.

Mr. Tolton’s passion is to create a company that he could call upon as a homeowner or a property manager and comfortably trust that they have over 30 years of experience in what they are doing and do not overcharge and cut corners.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Stating our workers have over 30 years of experience and are veterans of the industry is an understatement. To give you an idea of whom you are hiring, do you know those construction workers you see working on the side of the road, freeway, or working on large commercial (apartment) buildings? Those are our guys. We hire certified and licensed tradesmen that can single-handedly build an entire house or building.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We want to know your budget so we can work with it. We provide exclusive pricing to clients that would like to request numerous types of services ranging from roofing and window install to painting, drywall, and flooring install. We offer the best pricing when you want us to take care of all of your maintenance or remodeling requests. For small repairs and handyman work we charge hourly. We charge by the job the majority of the time.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Here’s a fun project story. Our client Brett is a realtor and had to get all Binser report repairs finished before closing and we had 7 days to do 2-3 weeks’ worth of work. This was a gem project simply because our management team learned so much about making things more efficient. We were able to meet Brett’s deadline; we were able to hire a new crew of workers in the process because our team knew what had to be done and we had a solid goal and plan in place. Trent Tolton focuses on creating policy and procedure, and this job proved our processes work.

What’s your recruiting process?

Simple Property Services does not work with just anyone, each of our service providers are put through rigorous background checks, we request over 10 references from each service provider. Our minimum requirements are.

  1. Worked in their business for at least five years;
  2. Demonstrated a commitment to their industry and community;
  3. Shown a record of great customer service;
  4. Earned a position of respect among their peers and competitors;
  5. Maintained a good record with the state Registrar of Contractors, as well as being correctly licensed, bonded and insured;
  6. Achieved good standing with the Better Business Bureau and have a good credit record.
